Blocked blogs

The recent directive by DoT, Govt. of India to the Indian ISPs to block particular blogs with objectionable content resulted in the blocking of the entire blogspot & typepad domains by most of the ISPs instead of using some subdomain level blocking. It seems that most of the Indian ISPs are ill-equiped to block certain sites and this resulted in the subsequent block on the whole range of blogspot and type pad blogs.

Update: As if this wasn’t enough, now the Indian Service Providers Association of India - ISPAI - has asked DoT to ban Skype, MSN, Yahoo and similar voice messengers.
